How to start a blog and earn money

1. Decide on a topic which you will be blogging about. If you would like to earn money from the blog then I recommend writing about something which you are very interested in and will be able to write about for at least a year.

2. Pick a host for your blog. The two best places to go if you want to start blogging for free are wordpress.com and blogger.com. Both of these offer free space for you to blog.

3. Start writing. Blogging will be the same as writing articles. First and foremost come up with a catchy title which will attract people then write in paragraph form on the subject.

4. Keep your blog updated daily which will take a bit of work, but will pay off very well. Remember the blogosphere is filled with millions of blogs so keep your visitors happy by having a constant stream of unique, fresh, helpful content.

5. Begin marketing the blog using social bookmarking, free press release sites, and other forms of free marketing. Even if you are the greatest blog in the world the only way someone will find it is if there are links on external sites letting the world know you exist the better the links the more traffic you will get.

6. Monetize the traffic which begins. After you have been up for a while and have a well established blog the next step is to find ways which will make you money. One of the easiest ways to make money especially if you are using Google's blogger platform is Google Adsense. They place ads on your blog then pay you each time a visitor clicks on one of the ads. You can also advertise for affiliates just make sure they are closely related to your niche and will be helpful to your visitors.

7. Don't get frustrated. This happens to many new bloggers, you must understand that there are millions of bloggers out there all looking for a spot. One thing that makes a big difference between blogs that make it and blogs that don't is time, if you only post for a few months then get frustrated and stop don't expect the blog to take off. Continue posting no matter what even when you really don't want to and you will see it pay off 10 fold.
